Crag features

The Gallanch Crags run most of the length of Gallanach Rd between the Harbour and Kerrera Ferry Terminal. The quality is mixed with better quality rock generally found in the lower regions so although many sections are around 70m high only the bottom half may have routes. Some sectors like "Roadside" have a layer of solid limestone on top of the base rock with associated features like Tufas and pockets which makes for interesting and varied climbing. On the whole the rock does not lend itself to Trad climbing (although some trad routes exist) therefore most routes are sport climbs equipped with glue-in ring anchors.

Approach notes

The access is easy as the entire crag follows the road however during busy summer months parking may be an issue. The easiest place to park is on the verge near Kerrera Ferry Terminal which is very close to "Roadside" Buttress.

Thanks to bolters! Think I'll head up next month. Whats the best way to find routes? Assuming its not in any guidebooks yet. Can see these topos have numbers on them, is there a way to translate that to route names?
