521m. From the Emosson dam parking, cross the dam. Follow the road round the lake for about 0.5km to a foot path branching left (marked on Swiss map). Climb up towards the Gorge de la Veudale with the peak straight in front of you. At about 2161m turn right (signposted Vieux Emosson). Follow this path to the crest of a broad ridge (do not descend to Vieux Emosson). Leave the path and follow the broad whale back ridge (occasional cairns, vestiges of a path). The route starts at a bolt at the bottom of the NE ridge at about 2378m.

Follow the ridge/edge of the face in a series of short pitches. Bolts for belays and some for protection but wires/cams may be useful for protection. Very grippy rock. Delightful summit with great views of the surrounding peaks.

From the summit walk easily down the SW ridge. It is possible to walk left off the ridge (no path) and follow a grassy/rocky ramp back to the whale back ridge.
