βeta: The two stacked pegs that protect the crux have been removed along with any concern that they may, or may not hold a fall, because a drilled, and glued (peg)bolt has been placed instead, (not by me!). Personally, I think like for like would have been better, the original pegs lasted decades, and over the years, I've hung, fallen, pulled and eventually cleanly climbed past them, they added to the experience. Making it one hundred percent safe takes away a lot of the psychological challenge, which is, after all, a large part of what trad climbing is about. | βeta? | |
