Hall Moor Quarry lies in a sycamore forest now seemingly intent on taking it back. A thick layer of brambles almost cover the quarry floor under which lies an uneven surface of large and wobbly stone blocks. However, a number of esoteric routes have been established here and more recently some hard test pieces have been added.
There have also been a number of boulder problems established in the small quarry on the approach into Hall Moor Quarry and the outcrop just by the main quarry entrance.
From the A6 at Darley Dale follow the B5057 (signposted Two Dales) and take the secong left (Park Lane then Hall Moor Road). Continue up the hill into trees. Park at a small Water Board building labelled Bent Lane. Walk back and follow a track (blocked by iron bar) on the left for 500m.
Anyone have a topo for the bouldering? Reece Cadman - 16/Jan/23 |
