βeta: In situ rope is currently (Jun 2023) rigged as a Tyrolean above the hard bit, with a knotted rope for aid at the downstream end but not at the upstream end. It's possible to monkey up or down the traverse rope for a few metres, with a bit of arm power, if you have no harness and don't mind getting wet. Monkeying upstream involves a height-dependent reach for the rope half-way.
