The crag is made of different quality of shale bands solid compact lower down and more weathered higher
This tidal crag is best in the afternoon evening as no sun in morning and needs a spell of dry weather for best conditions.
Falling tides towards the evening are best as can be approached at higher tides so long as a calm sea. And access can be cut off if a swell builds up.
This crag can be found from the cafe carpark walking west up the coast path until the path comes close to the wooden fence.. A view looking west to a sandy beach cove can be made at the first opportunity. At this point at the promontory view point has an old fisherman path cutting down steep bracken sloopps to sea level. The crag can be viewed from this point.
