This secluded crag of white rock rises from a small vale, hidden by the surrounding ridges and slopes on Portland’s east coast.
Its main feature is the overhang running across the main section of the cliff. Luckily, the elevated left and right wings bypass the roof and offer some easier routes.
Park at Cheyne Wear car park (pay and display) or at the eastern end of Weston Street. Find the coast path descent similar to the ‘Lost Valley’ approach.
Continue on this coast path down towards Church Ope Cove until you encounter a signpost. From here, head steeply uphill, trending right, through the saddle with the tree in. Head up and left here onto the ridge and the crag becomes visible.
Head right and down to a high step. Follow the broken stone path to a tunnel through the buddleia bushes and the base of the crag.
Please be aware that there is a caravan park above the crag so please keep any noise to a minimum.
