The long crags of High Cup Nick © petegunn
Deep dramatic U-shaped valley on the Pennine Way above Dufton. Walls of dolorite similar to the great Whin Sill crags like Peel Crag and Crag Lough.
Follow the bridleway up the hill along the north side of High Cup Nick from the village of Dufton.
NB. High Cup Nick is one of only three English locations for the alpine saxifrage and gardening should not take place. Luckily the rocks and faces are surprisingly unvegetated.
