Project sitstart at Holcombe Boulders © robin mueller
Small(ish) natural boulders with sitstarts and many rail traverses. Dries out very quickly but can be a bit dodgy to get to in wind, and it usually is windy! [andi_e 1/05]
No acccess problems reported.
You can approach from Moorbottom Road. There is style on the right and then a faint path up to the first boulder. Alternatively, approach from Peel Tower and then drop down to the boulders from the path.
Be aware that the boulders are pretty overgrown these days (2021) so quite hard to get to some of them.
The Holcombe Boulders - the rock is clean and are not overgrown (February 2023).
The natural boulders are clean and in a nice setting (if a bit small - lots of sit starts). Combined with Harcles Quarry there is enough to go at for a few hours. Antony Mariani - 28/Sep/15 |
