Freyja Boulder © Jonny Limpet
A collection of newly developed boulders, including a couple of peaches. Some potential for new lines including an impressive highball wall, and possibly/probably one of the hardest problems in the Lakes.
The boulders are best approached from Little Langdale, parking in the limited spaces found on the road or alternatively at the farm for £5 (this may well be the only option in the busier months, though it does provide the shortest walk in).
The area is split by a dry stone wall. This can easily be crossed via the big boulder in the wall. Please refrain from climbing over the wall itself.
A map showing the parking and approach options can be found in the photos.
Another map showing the layout of the boulders can also be found in the photos.
Note/s: the ground up to the boulders can be extremely boggy, and in some cases under water completely. A good pair of boots or wellies is most advisable. The area is quite sheltered and in the warmer months suffers from midges. A fan or two can come in handy here.
