Spectacular climbing, set in some of the grandest mountain scenery in Wales; slab-routes galore at every grade. Mainly multi-pitch routes to 160 metres. Must dos for visitors include "Tennis Shoe" (HS), "Suicide Wall Route 1" (E2) and "Hope" (VDiff), all multi-starred classics. Beware of falling sheep.
Grades as per the 2010 CC Ogwen guide.
20 to 25 minutes walk along the trail from Ogwen Cottage.
|Thanks to the guys who helped me out at Idwal yesterday (19/05/08) when I fell off. I took a big fall of the top of the first pitch of tennis shoe and landed in a nice soft muddy bog at the bottom of the route! The fella who got my gear back down asked me to post on here to let him know how I was doing which is ok, sprained ankle and a few cuts and bruises!
