Roadside Lake District ice - Tebay, by the side of the road just south of the bridge over the M6 © Nick Wharton

Crag features

Just south of junction 38 on the M6, the cutting at the side of the A685 forms a 100m wide continuous horizontal icefall. This is visible from the motorway and gives numerous grade III/IV pitches of 15 - 30 meters in height. Truly roadside cragging. (FRCC/Cicerone description)
