Good face, wall and groove climbing in a stunning position below the Col du Gallibier road.
Drive up from the Col du Lautaret about 5km towards the Col du Galibier, park at the view point on the right (same as Roche Noire) but walk down hill from the top corner of the car park, the crag is immediately visible down on the left, best to go down the small stream bed until level with the crag, then traverse in to it.
The view is lovely, crag in the shade until midday ish. The rock is pretty fragile with lots of loose cross around. There's lots of new routes with names, no grades and no topo so bolts everywhere and hard to work out what is what. I wouldn't bother. spragglerocks - 29/Jul/25 |
