Start 1km or so to the west of Les Freaux just past the small industrial estate. Theres parking on both sides of the road. The via ferrata has a large sign with some info. It says 4-5 hours but we took about 2 to do the route so can only assume this includes the descent as well. Its a short walk along an obvious path to the actual start.
It winds its merry way in and out an old lead mine with the occasional sign giving some historical detail . Quite interesting initially as its not just pulling on staples but turns into a cable guided walk/scramble at the top where you finish at a meadow with stunning views of the glaciers.
Follow the signs to Le Chazelet/Les Freaux and then the retour via ferrata to get back to the parking. DO NOT FOLLOW THE SIGN FOR THE DESCENT RAPIDE!!!
