βeta: Tops out on the ridge of Le Rateau in a great position. Descend to the Col de Girose by scrambling down the front face to the left of Pilier Paquet (above a snowy gully) to a short abseil with a thread and maillon. Traverse left to easier ground and regain the ridge to an easy descent to the glacier. Take care on the steep section above the bergshrund! | βeta? | |
