Selection of single pitch sport routes on limestone very similar to Portland. By no means a major venue, but enough for a pleasant 1/2 day. Great views.
Buy local guidebook at Sport 2000 in Gresse-en-Vercours (if it is open!)
Drive to Gresse en Vercors, and take a right as you leave the village, then follow the road until you reach a barrier. Park in the car park to the left and walk up the road beyond the barrier. Take a small path from the antenae station across to the bottom of the crag.
Definitely worth a visit, the views down over the valley and out to the surrounding mountains are stunning! The climbs are listed right to left in the guidebook but appear here left to right. Only the first two (right hand side) sections are listed here. The climbing is great, no polish in sight, and made all the better for the panoramic from the top. I found the routes quite tough for the grades the guidebook gives them, Bison Fute in particular is tricky to navigate and very steep. ambrooker - 04/Sep/10 |
