Crag features

A distinctive, black and white striped crag with a range of good quality routes, equipped by John Arran in 2025. Most are in the 7th and 8th grades, but there are some excellent easier routes too. The routes are generally quite long, sustained and on excellent quality rock.

The crag faces East. It becomes shady from 1:30PM in summer and can make a good afternoon/evening venue even on the hottest days of summer. In winter it benefits from a full morning of sunshine.

All routes are fully equipped with twin-bolt chain & ring anchors.

Approach notes

Near the south end of Tarascon-sur-Ariège, just before the N20 crosses the Vicdessos river, take a small driveable track on the right and park in the field at 42°50'18.6"N 1°36'10.5"E.

Walk East along a good path, which rises and meets a bigger track. Follow this leftwards, past the water pipes, and continue until a small rock by the path shows a yellow arrow. Branch off here to the right and follow a smaller path, which rises diagonally to reach the lower part of the crag. Allow 25-35 minutes’ walk.
