βeta: See BMC RAD re concerns about the stability of the block that houses this route's lower-off bolts. Recent visual inspection - currently unconfirmed by actual measurement - suggests that the vertical crack in the borehole that defines the block's right side has slightly widened over the past few weeks; ongoing monitoring should give a clearer picture. [Bear in mind that its immediate neighbour, which included the lower-off for Sack the Strugglers, succumbed to gravity and other forces three years ago.] It's probably a good idea to avoid this route for the time being; while the chances of being attached to the block when/if it falls are clearly small, the consequences of such an event for all involved would be horrific. | βeta? | |
