90m, 4 pitches. This impressive arete is best viewed from the approach path from the North Goatfell col. The lower section forms a narrow prow made up from massive overhanging blocks and roofs. Access down and round before the first main buttress met on the path. The path is usually well used by hillwalkers. Start left of toe of buttress at a thread belay.
1. 30m. Climb the steep slab above on frozen turf aiming for a corner crack line flanking the North side of the prow. A thread belay is reached after a short snow ramp.
2. 20m. Continue on this line before moves right can be made to a alcove on the arete above a big roof. Thread belay. A fantastic perch to view from. These two pitches can obviously be combined.
3. 20m. Continue up the narrow arete flanking the last blocks on their South side to reach a good platform overlooking the deep gully below. Thread belay.
4. 20m. Climb the North facing gully wall above on good turf in an exposed position to reach the top.
Easily walk off the near level remaining ridge to meet the footpath down.
