Some of the best bouldering in Pembrokeshire can be found on the moors above Dinas Cross. The rock provides grit-like friction with the potential for a number of high-ball problems.
Carn Enoch and Garn Fawr provide the main interest, with several micro-routes on the north side of Garn Fawr, but some problems exist on the smaller Carnsefyll and Elephant's Arse Boulders.
Approach from the road south from the centre of Dinas Cross. Some parking available on the left hand side of the road at the nearest point to the outcrops. Alternatively park at the viewing point above Dinas Cross.
Thanks to Climbing Club for the guide. Really enjoyed parts here - worth an afternoon's flail.
Carn Enoch East Face was very grimy.. loved the short probs on the south side though.
Garn Fawr was impressive. Cannot believe the cracks haven't been done!!! Proper line there - but N facing and wet.
Elephant's Arse was pants. Jon de Leyser - 16/Nov/14 |
