Overview of the Nahr Beirut Crag © drixselecta
Nahr Beirut is a convenient after-work crag close to Beirut with very good climbing. It gets really hot in the summer, though. There are 9 routes between 5b and 6c+ including a 3-pitch route. Some of the routes have bouldery starts. It is advised to pre-clip the first bolt on those.
From the Mkalles roundabout climb the main road towards Mansourieh. After about 1km follow a sign right to Bellevue Clinic. Go on this road past the clinic and you take the left side of a fork. At the end of this road (1,5km), take a right (a 180° turn) and continue down all the way. At the bottom of a steep descent go straight at the crossing and follow a dirt road until the end.
