This is the next group of crags further up Val Pennavaire after the Coletta crags, and are centred around the village of Nasino. They offer a great range of grades and styles, and face either south or west, meaning that autumn through to spring provides the best conditions.
Frantoio: A winter crag. Generally steep to very steep, between 10 and 25 metres. Lots of jugs but also lots of crimps and slopers.
Frantoio: Park at the obvious car park on the left when you arrive in Vignalo. Walk up the cobbled street through the ancient village to the derelict church (5 mins). Turn left immediately after thechurch (red and white paint marker), continue uphill past a cute turreted villa. Continue past the terraced olive groves on the right for another 5 mins or so to a sharp left turn and a smaller path (cairn). Continue up the steep path to arrive at the crag after 20 to 25 mins.
