The Mittenwalder Klettersteig is a via Ferrata following a sharp ridge above the town of Mittenwald. The ridge forms the border between Austria (Tyrol) and Germany (Bavaria) and has spectacular views into the Karwendel Range and Wetterstein Range. From the cable car station follow the signs and then the steel cable along the ridge. Includes a number of ladders and some slightly exposed sections along the Western edge.

Descent can be made to the Brunstein Hut and then follow the signs back to Mittenwald. It is also possible to skirt around under the Western side of the Klettersteig. There are some short sections of steel cable here but the path is not particularly clear. Once the gap near the tower with the ladders is reached cross over to the eastern side and follow the easy path back to the start.
