Approach notes
Follow the trail towards Mary Jane Falls from the same trail head parking area. At the 8th switchback (hairpin) bend (or the 4th if you're counting the bends toward the left) you'll see a wooden sign for the trail to Mary Jane Falls - ignore this sign and take the path leading you off the trail toward the right. This is the path to the climbing at Nueva Esperanza. The wooden sign has been placed there because the climbers path may lead some hikers away from the falls trail.Helmets are advised due to hikers who may be high above, unaware that climbers are below them.
