A boulder field, right in the heart of the Langdale valley. The area features a broad range of fun problems on delicious, bullet hard rhyolite.
Park anywhere in Chapel Stile that is not blocking an entrance and is not at the Co-op. The walk in is flat and easy (20-25mins). Turn off the main road through Chapel Stile, following a sign for "Baysbrown Farm Family Campsite". Once over the cattle grid, take a right and go over the bridge. Head right, along an obvious path, with the river to your right and fields on your left. Head along this path for around 5-10mins, before heading off left through Oak Howe (a few houses). Follow the path up and left, where you will begin to see boulders.
Access is a bit of a grey area. Half of the boulders are in access land, so can be climbed on (e.g. the Snail and the Daisy boulder). The others sit within owned land (near the footpath). If you do decide to visit and climb, you may be asked to leave by the landowner - if this happens be polite, pack up and leave as quickly as is safe to do so.
Avoid visiting in large groups.
