Crag features

A fantastic, imposing, kilometre-long crag up to 150m high. A mixture of sport, semi-bolted trad routes and proper trad routes. An unsung gem.

Approach notes

The crag can be approached from the track beneath it, but is more usually approached from the East, as described here.

Park here. Follow the marked path up to the Rigugio de Peñas Blancas in about 40 mins. It is possible to sleep here and is very much like a Scottish bothy with a couple of sleeping platforms.

From the Rifguio, either awkwardly descend the gully beneath the rifugio or walk along the cliff top to one of the many well-marked abseil stations. These can be descended in either 2x 60m or 2x 50m abseils – marked on the abseil stations.

Restricted Access

The guidebook reports that climbing may be restricted between Jan and Jul on climbs between Gradas Herbosas and Sol y Luna, though I am unsure of any online sources to provide up-to-date information.
