A new route on the East Face of Petit Flambeau. Approach from Helbronner to Col des Flambeaux and down the glacier along the slope of the Petit Flambeau south to the East Ridge in 30 minutes. Following two pitches of low grade climbing/scrambling (French 3) to get to the East Face, it goes in five technical and strenuous trad pitches of slab and crack climbing on golden granite (4, 5+, 5, 4, 4). Descent is over the top and off the normal route of Petit Flambeau.

βeta: The scrambling pitches have some loose rock, so care needed when parties below. There are some bolts, so if this is an easy grade for you, you can get away without trad gear, otherwise take a rack of cams (nuts not necessary). Pitches are short, so a single 60 half folded over is fine. The two 5 pitches were spectacular, gorgeous laybacking and crack climbing.
