Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 1869m a.s.l
Faces NE
An inspiring slab of rock clearly visible from Gourette and the surrounding passes. Great technical climbing on good rock. The routes are long and should not be underestimated.
See http://www.camptocamp.org/summits/189036/fr/pic-des-coutchets for route details.
The start of the routes are clearly visible from the village of Gourette. Follow the vehicle track out of the west side of the village for just under an hour; or alternatively follow the ski runs uphill to the base of the crag. When the main lift is running it is possible to take it to the mid station.
