UKC

40m. The biggest potato field in Devon and perhaps (though say it quietly) one of the premier sport routes in the UK? Takes on Potato Head's mega line, starting in the depths of the trench and finishing miles away at the Mash lower off, encompassing a wealth of fantastic, engaging and challenging climbing. Climb the tufa section of Maris Piper until the flowstone ends and the crack starts. Follow the crack through Fries to the rest by the Potato Bottom lower off, then continue up Blighted to the big break. Having stared into the depths of your soul and realised that using the kneebar no-hander will tarnish your family name into eternity, pull up to the shelf (as for Blight/Blighted) then swing right into the crack and follow it (crux) to meet and claw up Mash (big runout) to the top.
8b without the kneebar no-hander; you can just about take 8a+ if you use it, but going into the crux well-rested is really to miss the point of the exercise.

βeta: For the clip after the crux, at the end of the big runout (the first clip in common with Mash), use a screwgate on the bolt end of the quickdraw, as a normal krab can unclip itself as you climb past, and this is utterly terrifying.
