Another very committing route, providing the original way up the blank wall. Start 2 meters left of Walthwaite gully at a crack.
1) 10m 4a. Climb the crack to the large ledge.
2) 15m 6b. The short groove above and just left of the angle of the gully is Out Of The Darkness. Climb up to a small pocket left of this. Follow the flake leftwards with difficulty and then make a very hard move to gain better folds on the wall above, which is followed to the top. A Friend in the small pocket provides the only sunbeam on this serious pitch.
