This is a very quiet area of the forest and away from all the major popular areas, but within (reasonable) walking distance of the town. This is a very quiet area of the forest and away from all the major popular areas. At the top of the outcrop is a nice plateau with plenty of room to picnic.
The orange circuit was retraced in 2006, see http://grimporama.free.fr/topos-bleau/topo_rocher-avon.pdf for an up to date topo, that in Fontainebleau Magique is no longer very useful
| The orange (AD-) circuit was 'retracé' a couple of years and the descriptions above & in 'Fontainebleau Magique' no longer correspond to the numbers (although its still possible to find the old circuit)
Nice place, the circuit is mostly slabby, & seems to dry quite quickly. Always surprised that a circuit so close to the town is so little visited Doug - 20/Sep/10 |
