Crag features

A series of outcrops on the Roundwood road about 1km from the village of Kilmacanogue,(serviced by Dublin Bus route 45a from Dun Laoghaire [+1km walk]). All of the climbs described here are on two craglets situated above and left of a house which was once a shop on the left side of the road (note: Holly Tree Crag is the righthand one of two when viewed from the road, Silver Spring Crag is on left and slightly higher).

Approach notes

Approach. Park at Healy Pottery, walk up the road, passing two bungalows. About 10 meters beyond the low wooden fencing there are two ash trees on the far side of the road. The path starts from here and joins the original path after about 40m. This is much safer when returning down as it gives a clear view of the road and oncoming traffic. Follow the track up to the foot of Holly Tree Crag (5 minutes from the road). Traverse left from here to Silver Spring Crag.
