The 'Blank' Final Pitch © markfairbank

Crag features

A large expanse of slabs on the west side of Goatfell about 250m in height. The slabs are cris-crossed by the routes and the face is seperated by two grassy rakes.

Approach notes

The slabs are best reached up the hillside from the Glen Rosa path in about 2 hours from the road head.

Around half the photos show routes that are on Cir Mhor, not on the Rosa Slabs or South Slabs.

These crags would best be named as in the SMC guides, as they are quite separate, i.e.: Goatfell, Rosa Slabs; and Goatfell, South Slabs.

You beat us Gavin. My records say I was there with Don Moger on 25/7/2002. I agree with you it is a superb route but one h** of a slog through the heather up from the track.Worth it !

If this is the crag that contains Blankist, HVS 4c - which I think it is - then it\'s worth a visit. Perfect granite, long run-outs, and only two hours from the road(!). May is a good time to visit the island. Blankist is a superb route, and a relatively new addition to the crag.
