Crag features

Ruchi is most attractively ascended in combination with the more sort-after Haustock.or else as the culmination of the ridge traverse from the south. Otherwise, it stands as a 3000m peak that can be reached without technical difficulty on the normal route. The apparent summit cross is in fact a weather station, but is close to the summit.

Approach notes

The normal route from the Muttseehütte skirts the west side of the Muttsee on a good path before ascending the southwest flank of the mountain on a looser, steep path on scree, threading its way between cliffs and a couloir with a little exposure and large number of cairns. In the upper part the path flirts with the northwest ridge but stays on the west side until the final stretch.
