A few miles north of Applecross village, the road drops down to a lovely beach aptly named 'Sand'. At the parking spot by the road down to the MOD station, there is a remarkable roof feature. Though a plinth of rock underneath it makes it scary for bouldering through the roof itself, there are some perma-dry traverses on the back wall and a few good straight up problems. There is further bouldering ("Brae Boulders") under the scrappy escarpement above main road about 900 m south of the MOD/Sand Bay turning.
For the Roof and Orange Wall area, park at the Sand Bay car park just off the road down to the MOD station, the roof is 50 m from the car park. For the Brae Boulders it is better to use the carpark on the west side of the main road just over a kilometre south of the MOD turning: the main Brae boulders lie a couple of hundred meters to the north.
