A slab above the River Meig situated down stream from Scatwell River Slabs with a narrower slab close by down river in a lovely location. Crag was originally explored by John MacKenzie and Bob Brown in the early 90's but then abandoned as loose and vegitated. It has now been bolted after much cleaning and loose rock removed providing a good venue for short routes of a slabby nature on what looks like Psammite a metamorphised sedimentary rock. Some of the route may be a bit dusty after the dry spell but should clean up with a good shower.
Be aware of midgies at times when little wind in season.
Drive past Scatwell River slabs and park in a layby just before the road curves away from the river if coming from Meig Dam. Coming from Contin drive past Lower Scatwell House and at the end of a stone dyke park on the righthand side of road at a forest gate where there is space for a number of cars. Please avoid blocking the acess to the forest.
From the road take small paths towards the river where you will come across the top of either the Otter Slide or the main Lower River Slabs depending on your approach. Either takes less than 5 minutes. From top of main crag take the scramble down from left end looking down marked with post at top over an old rock slip rightwards to base of crag.
