Shipman's Head has a seasonal bird restriction

12m. The Northern arm of Shipman's Head.
The more northern of the snout crags has an obvious curious cross shape in its south face. This gives the fantastic climb:
Wonderful climbing on perfect granite. A devious route that makes sense when you’re on it.
Start on the tidal ledges on the east side. Gain the balancey foot ledges and make a reach for the hand traverse line. Take this airily out and around the arête to move up and into the cross feature above the overhang. Bully your way up using rounded laybacks, knees and all sorts. You’ll probably loose some skin off your hands along the way.
A brilliant climb.
