A true adventure destination. There is everything from huge mountain days right down to single pitch cragging. Though there is plenty of opportunity for new routing, it cannot be emphasised enough that this is a serious and remote destination with a mixture of good and very loose limestone.

From Bishkek it is a day's drive to the Son Kul Canyon. Consider contributing to the local economy by using a travel agency who can arrange sat phone rental, food, a cook, transport and advice on where to camp. Most routes are between 30-120 minutes walk from where parties usually camp.
