At the back of the canyon, furthest away from the stream you should be able to stand with a gangplank above you. Stand here with it on your right side and bridge up until you top out with a big tree for anchor.

βeta: Fair enough to claim an unclimbed line, but sorry to say I used to use this route at the beginning of the 90s to get to the top of the 'island' and presume the generation of climbers who found the crag in the 80s probably did as well. I do remember soloing the beautiful flow stone on 'landside' of canyon back around then and calling it "Once Upon an Ice Climb" as it looked so like water ice, I think I graded that Diff also, but I don't think it was put in the guidebook as it almost certainly had been done before by previous visitors. | βeta? | |
