Crag features

St Helens is a beautiful Anglican church in the village of Churchtown in Lancashire. Known as the Cathedral of The Fylde it is a proud building in the heart of the Red rose county looming over the sleepy village of Churchtown.

The rock is of variable quility but the lines that are there Instant classics. The majority of quality climbing is on the arch of the west face. The whole tower has great climbing potential. Developed during lockdown. Best climbed at night to avoid unwanted attention and is conviniently lit up by bright lights during the dark! The first line here was 'John the baptist' and is by far the best.

Access Advice

Best climbed in the night in the floodlights. Climbing not overtly allowed but never had a problem.
