600-foot granite dome nestled against North Carolina's Blue Ridge in Stone Mountain State Park. Mostly run-out friction climbing with bolts originally placed on lead.
A re-bolting project in the late '90s reinforced belays and replaced aging spinners to make climbs safer while preserving their character.
Most climbs are on the easily accessed South Face, while more adventurous, steeper friction is on the North Face, which requires an approach via abseil or bushwack.
State park, requirements are posted. Camping available within the park.
