Crag features

Whilst the surface rock in this area is generally not up to the same standard as elsewhere, there is some excellent climbing to be had in the narrow Tagzene Gorge, which cuts its way down into a band of immaculate quartzite, draining the fertile Upper Tagzene valley into Samazar. Here there is a high concentration of good quality low-grade pitches in an attractive and friendly setting. This, combined with a short approach from the car, straightforward descents and plenty of opportunity to escape from the midday sun provide for a very pleasant cragging experience...despite the unnerving presence of occasional eldritch artefacts.
