Crag features
Limestone, north facing, a good choice after a long hot spell. Upper pitches will stay wet after any rain. Lots of loose rock on ledges so great care needed ! Originally this slab was known for La Morzinoise, this route does still get some traffic but it has been superseded by superieror Vol du Korbé and the separate Maudit Bl'heros. There are other routes - namely Voie du Shin-N, Voie du Darbon and Voie du Dodo. But they our rarely (if ever?) climbed. The equipment on these routes is very out of date and the rock is bad.
The Vol du Korbé and Maudit Bl'heros both started out as 2 stars but they are being given 3 stars by some people. They are not as good as the routes found on the Miroir d'Argentine but they are close. There main drawback is the danger from loose rock being knocked off the various ledges.
Approach notes
Leave Morzine by passing the Telepherique de Nyon cable car. Follow the road to the village of L'Érigné. Pass through the village, carrying on towards Chalet des Mines D'Or. At a hairpin bend to the left there is a track dropping down to the right to a river. Parking available just along this track at the point marked 1309m on the IGN map.
Walk up the track to Chalet de Chardonniere. Take the footpath behind the chalet after 250m and a boardwalk, take the left hand option, hike steeply up through the edge of the forest. Here you come out into a meadow, head SE across a dry stream bed and then steeply up on grass and then scree towards the crag (no path). The routes start from the top of the scree. Vol du Korbé on the left and Maudits Bl'héros down a little to the right. 46.136043 , 6.779143, 1556m
