Crag features

This is a small outcrop roughly 1km SW from Kyleakin on the main road to Broadford, on the hill Cnoc a Mhadaidh Ruaidh south of the road. It's easily visible from the road as you drive towards the bridge from Broadford.

The crag is made up of hard sandstone which is horrendously slippy when damp or wet.

The most notable feature is Holly Tree Crack on the west face.

"This crag was well developed by the locals from Broadford in the late 70's including Wille Wallace SYHA warden, Martin Hind seasonal warden and others from the rescue team before the trees grew and made it a midge fest in bad days. Routes weren't recorded due to their short nature and not the thing to do. Still pass it and wonder?" Martin Hind

Approach notes

Park at NG; 734258 in a small layby on the E side of the road.

Head through the first gate and turn immediately left along an off road track, follow this E for 200M before meeting a small bridge, cross the bridge and turn right into a small disused quarry. Follow the track through the quarry onto the mtb trail, follow this track for 100M in the trees before reaching several small boulders on the edge of the path (just past a wooden bridge). Turn directly uphill and walk a further 100M to reach the crag.

There are multiple ways to get to the crag using the mountain bike trails but this is the quickest.
