Uniquely featured granite with many pockets. Gets afternoon sun but still quite shady and can seep after rain. Mosquitoes may also be a problem on still evenings.
The crag has been climbed on since 1989, but there were only a few bolts on the top until 2020 when the crag was almost fully bolted. It is now popular, clean and reckoned by many to be the best midgrade sport crag in the capital region. Some of the original crack line trad routes have been left unbolted, so nuts and cams are necessary if you want to tick the crag!
Good topo here.
Walk 5 min from car park on a faint path through forest. You can't miss it.
Climbing is allowed on the existing routes. No new routes allowed.
Update June 2021: not sure there is room for any new routes!
Parking on roadside by edge of forest. Don't park in the private spaces. 2 hr parking allowed but we stayed 4 and I think ticket is unlikely. If worried it would take 5 min to reset your timer walking back from the crag.
