West of the beautiful expanse of sand at Trà igh Uige lies the large headland extending northwards from the beach at Trà igh Mhangarstaidh. This area of coastline presents the highest concentration of developed sea cliffs on the island.
Follow the road south past the shops at Timsgarry and 'Uig Sands' to where the road drops down across the river by the Abhainn Dearg Distillery. Continue up the other side past the turning for Carnish and to a road on the right leading to the hamlet of Mangersta (Mangurstadh).
Superb location and good rock on recognised routes. We did a bit of exploring on the other rock and found some very dodgy rock in places. CyberTaff - 15/May/13 |
