Good rough gritstone which is usually clean "due to its constant exposure to the lashing westerly gales". About 40ft high, plenty of splendid bouldering. Home to John Dunne's Carmen Picasso (E9 6c). Great on a nice summer's day.
Do not use wire brushes - the rock is surprisingly fragile.
The crag is on land used for grouse shooting - respect any access notices posted there. (Or have your head blown off, whichever you prefer.)
Located about 1mi S of Widdop. Park there by the dam, cross the dam and walk along the far shore to the end of the plantation. Here take a track up onto the moor, and then to a signpost where two tracks meet. The crag is on the L.
