Approach notes

70km north of Bariloche from Route 40. Boat across the Limay River to visible cliffs.

Camping is prohibited at Valle Encantado and violations risk access for all. There is a campsite 4km south at Rincon de Creide.

The area is closed to climbers from 24 December to 1 March, please respect the land owner.

There are 2 area - one doesn't require crossing the river, but the main sector with the best routes does. You will need a boat or paddleboard, or a kind person to take your bags as you swim across! On the weekend there are many other climbers about and it's easy to catch a lift.

Restricted Access

Camping and fires are forbidden so climbers should respect these rules and also leave no rubbish or equipment behind.

The land is privately owned and the owner has a tree farm on the property. At times there is a property manager on site. It's closed from 24 December to 1 March.

Breaking these rules risks access for everyone so the local climbers ask everyone visiting to please respect the land owner.
