A number of different walls have been bolted around the town of Villa Llanquin. With a farm/ranch feel it is very unlike the other areas around Barliloche. The area is located in the estepa desert which is much drier than further south.
***UPDATE FEB 2024***
The Pared Roja sector has signs saying climbing is prohibited. Some research suggests this is due to the poor behaviour of climbers sadly. La Cosa is still open but there is a sign at the crag saying to register with the landowner at Camping Don Jacinto before climbing. They're friendly people and it's only a small detour.
From Bariloche take the Highway 237 northeast towards Neuquen for 37 kms until you get to Villa Llanquin.
As of February 2024 Pared Roja sector has large signs up saying that climbing is prohibited. La Cosa is still open for climbing but register with the landowner at Caping Do Jacinto first.
