'Ecki Thump' boulder or 'Wolf Wall' as seen from the B9007 (you'll have to squint) © Rowan Morgan

Crag features

A smattering of rock outcrops on the hill of Creag a' Ghiuthias, on the Dava moor. The conspicuous triangular face seen from the B9007 (Carrbridge to Ferness) is known either as the 'Ecki Thump Boulder' (Mike Gale's OG bouldering guide) or 'Wolf Wall' (SMC's Highland Outcrops South).

The area of 'Main Wall' (SMC) is a longer section of rock 300m South of Wolf Wall, where routes are currently quite lichenous or overgrown. More rock can be sought out, hopefully with scope for further development.

Approach notes

Park in any layby on the B9007, and cross a marshy valley. Approx 20 mins.

Access Advice

Take care not to trample too much of the area as there are no paths from the road, use sheep trods where possible and as always leave no trace!

Wolf Wall is well worth a visit. Catches the evening sun.
